Hello!

I'm Amy, and I write steamy, smutty books. If you like phenomenal worldbuilding, character-driven plots, and bedroom scenes hot enough to singe your eyebrows, you're in the right place!

This is the section of my bio where I get to write in the first person. To be honest, I’ve never really understood why author bios are usually written in the third person, but everyone else does it, so why not?

Before I was a writer, I was a reader. In fact, I come from a long line of readers (and secret writers). My grandmother wrote poetry and hid it in a drawer. I used to hide in a corner of her house and read her huge collection of romance novels. That’s when I fell in love with the romance genre. These books were well-researched historicals about some of the most important events in history, and they featured interesting and passionate characters. More than that, they told stories about women, and from a woman’s perspective. I was hooked.

But I didn’t start writing right away. Nope. I went to college and then law school—with a stint in the Army thrown in for good measure. I’ve rocked both combat boots and high heels.

I’m also really fond of flip flops.

After eight years of law practice, I knew I loved research and writing, but I dreaded the animosity and conflict of the courtroom. And through it all, I never stopped reading romance. I also started writing. Instead of writing in secret and throwing my manuscripts in a drawer, I decided I wanted to make this life my job.

Best decision ever.

Writing has given me the ability to spend more time with my family, and do what I’ve always longed to do: get the characters who live in my head out and onto paper (or computer screen). There is truly no better feeling than typing the last few words to finish a manuscript.

I write romance because I love writing about love. I enjoy watching two (or three) characters circle each other, wanting to connect but struggling to overcome the obstacles standing in their way. Whether I’m writing about polyamorous dragon shifters or werewolves desperate to find their fated mate, passionate relationships are at the core of my books.

I’m a mom of five awesome kids and wife to a supportive husband who never complains when I say things like, “What’s a good name for an alpha wolf who’s also a secret computer genius?” I grew up in Oklahoma, but I now call the Great Lakes region home.
